Turnaround Project Management Primer - Evaluating and Setting Priorities
The manager's experience plays a significant role in evaluating the schedule and setting priorities based on criticality, and manpower and equipment availability.
There are basically three main types of priorities, or rather, key factors affecting priorities. They are:
- The order in which the systems are shut down and started up
- The criticality of activities on the schedule
- The availability of manpower, equipment, tools and spare parts
Hopefully, the order in which systems and equipment are shut down and should be started up is incorporated into the turnaround schedule, in which case only the second and third items above need be considered.
